These 10 things take up too much space in my home
I've recently done a major declutter of my living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. But these 10 things still take up too much space:
- Stationery
- Paperwork
- Craft supplies
- Board games
- Bedding
- Towels
- Over-the-counter medicine
- Make-up
- Hair accessories
- Cleaning supplies
According to The Minimalists, this will always be the case if my focus is on the act of decluttering. Minimising is a process, not a goal.
And this makes sense. If I measured my success by how many boxes I donated to our local charity shop, I could stop decluttering now.
Getting rid of stuff creates space in my home, but that alone is only a temporary salve. I will ultimately always be holding onto too much if I forget my 'why'.
Why do I want to declutter? I want to have more space to enjoy the rooms in my home. I want to be able to easily find what I need. I want to spend less time tidying and cleaning. I want to spend my time pursuing my dreams and building relationships, not managing my household.
